Mastodon, Baroness & Gojira To Play Mammoth Soundwave Sideshows

Three of the biggest names in modern metal come together on two almighty shows in Sydney and Melbourne next month, with Mastodon, Baroness and Gojira each playing headline sets of their own unique brands of metal.

Mastodon are one of those bands that have such an insanely wide appeal and that will show when they return to Australia next month for the first time since 2012. The band just keep getting more and more popular and after the release of their Live at Brixton LP late last year, we are finding it hard to wait even a few more weeks to see them destroy the stage with their almighty live show. We are beyond psyched for their return and this sideshow is a wonderful treat for just about any metal fan.

After a seriously nasty bus crash that almost killed them, it's kind of a miracle that Baroness are still together and playing music, but that is what they are best at doing so we're not gonna complain. The sludge metal titans are back in Australia to pummel our ears like only they can and we'll be more pleased than ever to have the opportunity to see, hear and feel them do so.

Finally, France's Gojira are one of the most unrelenting tech-metal bands around and have been going hard at it for almost 20 years now. When our site was newly launched we streamed their latest album L'Enfant Sauvage and the reaction was so immense that it almost crippled our server; this band are very well loved and their fans are very passionate about them. They will be an exhausting start to the evening but it'll be worth every second.
