It was a big night for the singing celebrity guessing game, with some massive reveals for the top three.

The massive two-part finale of The Masked Singer Australia aired last night - with thousands of fans around the country tuning in to see who would take out the crown.

The top three contestants - Mullet, Dolly and Vampire - revealed their famous alter egos throughout the night, with Vampire being declared the champion and outing herself as a famous international star.

It's been one of the biggest seasons for the show in terms of celebrity power. Despite the pandemic and COVID restrictions, celebs from around the globe came out for the opportunity to dress up and rock out onstage under the guise of a bizarre costumed character.

UK actor Vinny Jones and legend Macy Gray were among the visitors from across the pond, alongside Vampire, who turned out to be none other than 00's US pop superstar Anastacia.

The Left Outside Alone singer explained that the opportunity to get back to performing was too good to pass up, saying during the show, "The industry is completely frozen. We have no stages to go on, we can‘t have crowds, and I understand that because I want to keep people safe, but I miss doing my job and I really, really miss singing."

A total of nearly 1.5 million viewers tuned in to the double feature. The event placed at both #7 and #9 in the overall ratings chart for the day.

Second place went to Dolly - aka singer/standup Em Rusciano - and third to Mullet (or Axle Whitehead when he's out of the fish suit).

Whitehead's stint on the show coincides with the release of his new tune One Gun, where the singer takes a pivot into blues and country.

"Before I went to music college to study Jazz all I wanted was to be Garth Brooks or Steve Earle," he said of his new musical venture. "Now after exploring a few different genres over the years, I’ve finally found my own sound."
