The world's largest music conference and showcase South By Southwest (SXSW) has unveiled their first, already very expansive, set of artists invited to perform at the six-day event in Austin, Texas, as usual including a few of Australia's most promising exports.

This year, attendees can catch Perth psych-rockers Methyl Ethel, who signed three deals with Coda Agency, The Windish Agency and Village Sounds off the back of their BIGSOUND showcase, 20-year-old Melbourne singer/songwriter Demi Louise, brooding Melbourne rockers Gold Class and Melbourne-via-New Zealand crooner Marlon Williams & The Yarra Benders.

The acts join other artists from as far and varied as Denmark, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Sweden, Israel, South Korea and Bangladesh.

The 30th iteration of SXSW takes place from Tuesday, 15 March to Sunday, 20 March 2016, where a slew of industry heavyweights partake in conferences, panels and discussions. Some of the sessions taking place this year include What It Means To Start A Label In The Digital Age with Talib Kweli and Jarret Myer, Data Analytics For The Indie Artist and No Basic Pitches: Publicity By The Journalists; You Can't Pay Bills With Facebook Likes.
