“I’m so excited that Maple and her friends no longer have to get Fake IDs to attend Good Things 2025,” said Good Things promoter Chris O’Brien.

While Good Things Festival has a 16+ age policy, it’s made an exception for 15-year-old Maple Johns and her bandmates in Maple’s Pet Dinosaur, who have just been added to this year’s line-up.
The Good Things line-up had already been confirmed, with the likes of Tool, Weezer, Garbage, Refused, The All-American Rejects, Knocked Loose, Tonight Alive, and many more booked when the Newcastle band dropped their viral, punk-driven debut single, lego, in September.
The fish-eye music video was shot on their neighbour’s Ring doorbell camera and quickly exploded, becoming the most-viewed Instagram Reel in history by an Australian-born artist, with over 54 million views and counting. In addition to breaking a record on Instagram, the song has gone viral across TikTok, YouTube, and X, as well as Reddit.
Described as a “bully beatdown,” the single is a heavy, urgent, two-minute and 18-second “audio assault” as Maple puts the spotlight on teen bullying. Vocally, Maple is intense, and the band provides energetic riffs and drums.
Of course, Good Things Festival promoter Chris O’Brien is always on the lookout for emerging rock artists, and was keeping an eye on the momentum of Maple’s Pet Dinosaur, which included Limp Bizkit’s Fred Durst commenting on one of the band’s videos.

“I’m so excited that Maple and her friends no longer have to get Fake IDs to attend Good Things 2025,” O’Brien commented in a press release. “Maple is going to be an absolute force in the future, and we are so pumped that her first-ever shows will be on Good Things 2025.
“The festival isn’t just about the big names; it’s giving opportunities to incredible young artists like Maple a platform to help catapult their careers.”
Maple added, “My goal for 2026 was to play Good Things, so to tick that box a year early is so sick. I was even planning on making a fake ID to see Refused’s final Australian shows - so I’m glad I don’t have to break the law now.
“We’re at the very start of what I want to be a long career in this scene, and it’s super important to build credibility by proving we can hang in this space. It’s a big challenge and a big opportunity, and I’m grateful for it. If you come see us at Good Things, I promise we’ll make it worth getting in early!”
