Man Charged With Indecent Assault At Earthcore Festival

The man was charged with numerous offences.

A 23-year-old man has been arrested on several charges following Earthcore’s Melbourne event this past weekend.

According to Fairfax, the man was arrested on the festival site with Campaspe detectives charging him with two counts of indecent assault, one count of unlawful assault in relation to an alleged incident involving three people and one count for possession of cannabis.

There have also been separate reports of a sexual assault that occurred in the early hours of Sunday morning which police are investigating.

Campaspe Inspector Geoff Owens said that despite the arrests and several people being found with drugs, one who was subsequently charged with trafficking, overall the crowd was “very well-behaved”

Earthcore has been plagued with problems since headliners Coming Home cancelled their appearance after accusations of missing funds as well as the scrapping of the Sydney offshoot event just days before it was set to take place.
