"Anyone who wants to do a tribute to Prince is welcome to."
Following her highly-scrutinized tribute for Prince at yesterday's Billboard Music Awards, Madonna has hit back at critics after a petition was launched last week calling for the US pop star to be scrapped from the show.
Taking to her Instagram earlier today, the 57-year-old performer uploaded a photo with the caption, "Deal with it".
Soon after Madonna shared another post, this time taking a direct shot at the haters.
"Anyone who wants to do a tribute to Prince is welcome to," the caption reads.
"Whatever your age gender or skin color. If you loved him and he inspired you then show it!!!! I love Prince 4 ever".
Madonna performed Prince's classic hit Nothing Compares 2 U, followed by a duet of Purple Rain, alongside the iconic Stevie Wonder.
