Pushed back, it's now off the cards.

More Madonna More Madonna

The much-speculated Australian tour dates for Madonna have been scrapped, it is being reported today.

Fans had hoped that Australia would be on Madonna's current world tour and it was reported last week that an imminent announcement had been pushed back to after the Olympics.

Today the Herald Sun have announced that the Australian leg has been scrapped with the pop music icon voicing her "change of heart" overnight.

A representative from the Australian Live Nation office, promoters of the world tour, confirmed that there are no Australian tour dates and that their official line is that, "The tour is concluding in South America."

They claimed that there had been a lot of misinformation surrounding the tour and "ill-informed" media reports. "As far as we're concerned we don't have anything to un-announce," they said.

The tour would have been Madonna's first Australian visit since 1993.
