Yet another highlight for Tasmania's own trailblazing punk outfit
Tasmanian-bred punk-rock luminaries Luca Brasi have a fresh feather to stick in their already lusciously plumed cap, with the announcement that they have become the newest signees to be welcomed under the booking umbrella of renowned agency New World Artists.
The deal, through which agent Edwin Tehrani will oversee the band's bookings, sees the five-year-old mainstays of off-mainland, off-mainstream music join the equally diverse and esteemed likes of Allday, Grinspoon, British India, Illy, Closure In Moscow, In Hearts Wake, Dead Letter Circus, Drapht, and many more, as signees to New World Artists, and marks just the latest accolade in a year filled with such leaps forward for the band.
Having unleashed their well-received sophomore full-length By A Thread (via Poison City Records, to whom they are signed) in March, Luca Brasi have spent much of 2014 on the road all around Australia (and, recently, China), sharing stages with renowned peers such as Violent Soho, The Smith Street Band, Bodyjar and Title Fight. Amongst it all, they've found the time to slot in some high-profile festival appearances, including at Poison City Weekender and the forthcoming Falls Festival.
With guidance from NMA Management's Adrian Kelly on top of their established relationship with Poison City and freshly forming links with New World Artists, Luca Brasi are in as solid a position as they've ever been to take the next step and take on 2015 head-first.
