Hobart’s Uni Bar will be sent off in style in late June with four massive shows. Luca Brasi, Kisschasy, ONEFOUR, and Old Mervs will headline a series of Last Drinks events at the beloved space before the venue shuts its doors.

After announcing a hiatus in November, Luca Brasi will reunite for a special performance to farewell the venue. The pop-punk/emo outfit, hailing from St Helens, Tasmania, will perform with an all-Tasmanian line-up, starring Glass Media, Dvrkworld, and Ema.

The Last Drinks shows kick off on Friday, 20 June, with Kisschasy and special guests Sly Withers and Suzi, followed by ONEFOUR and The 046 on Saturday, 21 June, Luca Brasi and friends on Friday, 27 June, and Old Mervs with special guests Bocce and Stacy Whale on Saturday, 28 June.

Tickets to all shows are now available via the VNDN website.

In March, it was announced that Hobart’s Uni Bar would close, but not before it went out with a bang.

The venue, known as the cornerstone of Tasmania’s music scene, is closing due to the University of Tasmania’s Sandy Bay redevelopment and the space’s lease not being renewed.

The venue’s impending closure has been described as a “significant blow” to the Hobart live music scene, Tasmania, and Australia as a whole. Uni Bar has long been a beloved institution for music lovers, hosting many of Australia’s favourite national and international acts.

Uni Bar has been a watering hole for enthusiastic music fans and performers for generations. The venue's roots can be traced back to 1976. Originally formed by the Tasmanian University Union, it has long been a staple of the university campus.

Artists including Faith No More, Public Enemy, Cold Chisel, PNAU, Divinyls, Bliss n Eso, Grinspoon, The Amity Affliction and many more have performed at the venue.
