Luca Brasi Announce 'The World Don't Owe You Anything' Australian Tour

Tassie rockers Luca Brasi are hitting the road again this May, trekking across the country over a massive ten days with special guests Spanish Love Songs (USA). Luca Brasi will be touring in support of their latest album, the powerful The World Don’t Owe You Anything.

The tour begins on 15 May at Canberra’s The Basement, followed by Adelaide’s The Gov (16 May), Melbourne’s Northcote Theatre (17 May), Perth’s Rosemount Hotel (18 May), Brisbane’s The Triffid (22 May), the Gold Coast’s Miami Marketta (23 May), Sydney’s Metro Theatre (24 May), and ends at Newcastle’s King Street on 25 May.

The Live Nation pre-sale begins at noon on Thursday, 1 February, and concludes on Friday, 2 February, at 11 am local time. General tickets will be available from noon on Friday, 2 February. You can buy tickets via the Live Nation website.

The World Don’t Owe You Anything was released last September and was preceded by excellent singles, including the title track and Sonny – the latter song acting as a gift to fans for their support. Sonny was released as frontman/bassist Tyler Richardson faced a devastating family crisis.

In a statement shared with a GoFundMe fundraiser, Luca Brasi guitarist Patrick Marshall explained that in late July last year, Richardson’s one-year-old son Harris was “diagnosed with cancer out of the blue”. Richardson and his wife Alix were gearing up for a sudden move to Melbourne, where Harris could begin receiving treatment at a children’s hospital.

Spanish Love Songs toured Australia for the first time last August, in which singer Dylan Slocum called the shows “properly insane”.

“The people in Australia… they're very into the music, singing very loudly,” Slocum said in a The Music interview. “Sometimes, we run into an issue depending on the market or the country where the audience doesn't [sing along]. It's not their fault; it's just how they engage with music. And so far, the audiences have been engaged in a way that I love.

“Yeah, [the shows have been] exceeding expectations – it’s been a ton of fun, and it’s nice to see a lot of people out.” For their inaugural Australian tour, Spanish Love Songs were touring in support of their newest album, No Joy.
