Lookout Festival Assures Patrons Remaining Shows Will 'Go Ahead As Planned' Following Cancellations

Lookout Festival organisers have addressed punters’ concerns after two of the eight events headlined by Jet were cancelled. They assure ticketholders that the remaining dates will “go ahead as planned.”

Organisers announced eight tour dates for this month and March. The tour was set to stop in Sandstone Point (Saturday, 22 February), Southport (Sunday, 23 February), Adelaide (Saturday, 1 March), Lake Macquarie (Saturday, 8 March), Wollongong (Sunday, 9 March), Hillarys (Saturday, 15 March), Torquay (Saturday, 22 March), and Mornington (Sunday, 23 March).

However, ticketholders received news this week that the Southport and Wollongong dates had been cancelled. Unsurprisingly, punters wondered if the other dates would still go ahead.

In a statement to The Music, Lookout Festival organisers confirmed that the rest of the festival will continue as planned and that Southport and Wollongong ticketholders will receive full refunds.

Due to circumstances beyond our control, and in light of the extraordinary increases in infrastructure costs in some regions, we have no option other than to cancel two of the LookOut performances.
It has therefore been mutually agreed among the artists, their representatives and Face to Face Touring that we will reduce the number of shows from 8 to 6. The Southport Qld (Sun Feb 23) and Wollongong NSW (Sun Mar 9) shows will not be going ahead.
All other shows will go ahead as planned.
All Southport and Wollongong patrons will receive a full refund.

In November, the line-up for this year’s star-studded Lookout Festival was announced, locking in headliners Jet, as well as Grinspoon, The Veronicas, and Jebediah (who all recently released great new albums), Spiderbait (who recently commemorated 20 years of Black Betty), Aussie rock heroes Magic Dirt, and indie rockers Youth Group.
