Local Line-Up Revealed For Adelaide's Clipsal 500 Concert Series

Six new acts land support roles for the existing roster, including Cold Chisel, Spiderbait & more

Six South Australian acts have been added to the Cold Chisel-led Clipsal 500 concert series line-up for this year, which kicks off in just a couple of weeks' time on Friday, 27 February in the state capital.

The cabal of local acts selected to fill support roles for the likes of Stafford Brothers, Havana Brown, Timmy Trumpet, John 'Swanee' Swan, Cold Chisel and Spiderbait, at a series of shows until Sunday, 1 March, are KooltaURTEKKJac Dalton With Sonic DivideLazy EyeGrenadiers and Horror My Friend.

The bands were selected through MusicSA's Bands On Track partnership, devised in collaboration with Clipsal 500 in conjunction with radio stations Nova 91.9 and Mix 102.3.

"The six artists we've selected are gearing up to perform at South Australia's premier event in 2015," MusicSA general manager Lisa Bishop said in a statement. "Bands On Track provides a brilliant opportunity for great South Australian talent to support internationally successful artists with award-winning careers. It's going to be an unforgettable weekend of live and local music."

Added Clipsal 500 chief executive Mark Warren: "Bands On Track has been a very successful initiative that we're proud to continue into 2015. It's important we support and encourage the development of South Australian music talent and we're really excited to showcase these new and emerging local bands as part of the Clipsal 500 entertainment program."
