The legends head back to where it all began next March

More Cold Chisel More Cold Chisel

Legendary Oz-rock band Cold Chisel have announced that they'll be performing a special homecoming show in their breeding ground of Adelaide to appear at next year's annual Clipsal 500 in the South Australian capital.

The concert, scheduled to rock socks and melt faces on March 1, 2015, marks not only the first on-stage appearance together for the iconic act since 2012 (and first show in Adelaide since 2011), but also edges onto the forty-year mark since they settled on their definitive line-up of frontman Jimmy Barnes, lead guitarist Ian Moss, bassist Phil Small, keyboardist Don Walker and drummer Charley Drayton.

Audiences can expect to be treated to a diverse selection from Chisel's extensive back-catalogue, including such hits as Flame Trees, Khe Sanh, Cheap Wine and Bow River as well as some more recent material that has only come to life over the past few years.

Although regularly pursued to make further live performancs, the band have been historically reticent to step out for the sake of it, meaning this rare appearance in Adelaide carries a special weight for punter and performer alike, and makes it a must-see event of the calibre occupied by the band's 2011 record-breaking Light The Nitro tour.

Early-bird ticket-buyers will receive a free download of Home & Broken-Hearted, from Chisel's forthcoming The Live Tapes — Vol 2 — Live At Bombay Rock LP; that offer will stand from when ticket sales open at 9am on Friday, August 8 (available here) until midnight on August 31.
