The Living End To Headline Summernats 27

The festival will also host a yet-to-be announced electronic act for the first time on the Saturday evening

More The Living End The Living End

Australia's favourite classic rockers The Living End have been announced as the headlining act for the largest car enthusiast festival in the southern hemisphere - Street Machine Summernats Car Festival.

The event's organisers couldn't be me more pleased to secure the trio for Summernats 27, which has hosted acts such as the Hilltop Hoods, Rose Tattoo, The Screaming Jets and Children Collide in recent years.

The Living End boys are also pretty chuffed to be involved with the festivities, with frontman Chris Cheney stating, “Rock'n'roll and tough cars have a lot in common, they both turn the adrenalin up to 11! We're looking forward to bringing them together this summer in Canberra for the Summernats.”

And there's still more excitement in store for Summernats 27 - for the first time in the festival's history an electronic DJ will be headlining the main stage on the Saturday night, which has traditionally always been headlined by classic rockers.  Further details about who this act might be are set to be announced in September.

Summernats 27 will be held at Exhibition Park in Canberra from Thursday 2 - Sunday 5 January 2014. For more information on the festival, head to their official website.
