Life Pilot Drops Epic New Music Video
The rock band's latest single is accompanied by fifteen minutes of quirky film-making.

Just off the back of an SA Music Award nomination, long-running chaotic hardcore five-pice Life Pilot have released their latest single The Nerve.
The track is a freeing anthem that centres the idea of learning to adjust to a life without the partner you envisioned spending the rest of it with.
To further the hijinks and fun, Life Pilot released an accompanying music video for The Nerve - a music video that the band themselves rejoice in referring to as “absurd.”
The video is a whole fifteen minutes long, a narrative that touches on dodgy promoters, inane conversations, and frustrating band mates.
Inspired by the iconic Jackass roller-disco truck skit, Life Pilot pays homage to the MTV stunt team by piling themselves into a moving van and doing their best to play their song while vocalist Angus Long takes the band on an unwitting drive.

The band’s drummer, Eli Green, says, “I got the idea after rewatching all the Jackass movies one weekend. I thought ‘That looks like fun, and surely the safety warnings they give are all for show. How bad could it be?’”
It turns out the shoot was more difficult than anticipated. “It was actually quite terrifying once those van doors were closed and things started moving. We really got our asses kicked."
The skit was written by vocalist Angus Long, and the music video was filmed and edited by bassist Nicholas Evans.
Long says of the story, “We wanted to poke fun at some of the insane reasons people in the industry have given us to pay us less than they should have, or not at all. And at the same time, have some fun improvising some absurd comedy as send ups of our own bizarre character selves.”
To celebrate the release of The Nerve, Life Pilot are hosting a Halloween-themed single launch this Saturday, October 26th, at the art deco venue Arthur Art Bar, joined by hometown heavies Hammer618, I Choose Violence, and PTL.
Gig-goers are encouraged to dress up in costume for the chance to win a $100 bar tab for the night.
