Less Than Jake have announced their first Australian tour in seven years, with five epic theatre shows on the itinerary for later this year.

The tour comes in celebration of Less Than Jake’s third studio album, Hello Rockview, which arrived back in 1998 and was soon immortalised as a timeless ska-punk classic. Belatedly honouring its 25th anniversary, this upcoming tour will see the band will perform Hello Rockview in its entirety, as well as a decent handful of hits from the rest of their nine-album catalogue.

In a press release, Less Than Jake said they consider Australia “one of our favourite places in the world”, describing the Land Down Under as “a paradise with koala bears and flat whites”.

The weeklong party will kick off on Friday October 25, when Less Than Jake take to the stage at 170 Russell in Melbourne (Naarm). They’ll head to Perth (Boorloo) next, playing the Freo Social on Sunday October 27, before hitting Wollongong (Tharawal) and Sydney (Eora) for back-to-back shows the following Tuesday (October 29) and Wednesday (October 30). Last but not least, they’ll wrap things up at the King Street Bandroom in Newcastle (Awakabal) on Friday November 1.

Joining the band for all five shows will be party-rock band The Bennies and up-and-coming punks Young Offenders.

Tickets go on sale at 9am local time this Wednesday (June 26), following a presale that kicks off at the same time tomorrow (June 25) – head here to sign up for the presale, or bookmark this link for the general sale.
