KPop Demon Hunters Dominates Australians' Most-Viewed Videos On YouTube

YouTube has revealed Australia’s Top 10 most-viewed music videos of the year, and has joined the fun of Spotify and Apple Music by launching its inaugural Recap.

As seen in the list below, the global family-friendly sensation KPop Demon Hunters holds six of the Top 10 spots, beating pop music heavyweights such as Lady Gaga, Ed Sheeran, and Alex Warren.

In addition to KPop Demon Hunters, Aussies were also obsessed with the Minecraft Movie Soundtrack this year. Unfortunately, no homegrown music cracked the Top 10.

Along with sharing the most-viewed music videos in Australia this year, YouTube has launched its first-ever Recap experience, accessible via the “For You” section on the app, desktop or mobile. The results are packaged in a personalised highlight reel featuring users’ favourite and most-watched videos from the last year.

A press release notes that YouTube Recap captures users’ interests, deep dives, and moments explored over the last twelve months, all based on viewers’ watch history. Users will see up to 12 cards that showcase their top channels and interests, as well as the evolution of their viewing habits and personality predictors derived from their viewing history.

Personality predictors include “The Adventurer,” “Skill Builder,” “Creative Spirit,” “The Sunshiner,” “Wonder Seeker,” “Philosopher,” “Dreamer,” and more.
