Venerated singer-songwriter Kimya Dawson has cancelled her impending visit to Australia and New Zealand to attend to "family health matters outside of anyone's control", it has been announced.
The cancellation includes her upcoming appearance as a keynote speaker at next month's BIGSOUND conference in Brisbane.
In a statement, Dawson's representatives confirmed that "another tour will be rescheduled in the future once return dates are possible", advising that refunds and replacements would be available through the relevant venues and events through whom tickets were originally purchased.
This includes for her performances at GOMA, Dress Up Attack! Brisbane and Sydney, and in Wellington and Auckland and Melbourne.
