Hear Kele Okereke Perform New Bloc Party Song On Triple J

The band are ending their hiatus

More Bloc Party Bloc Party

They’ve been on an “indefinite hiatus” the past few years, but Bloc Party are well underway with their new record, as frontman Kele Okereke confirmed to triple j this evening.

Touring Australia with his new solo album, Trick, Okereke popped by triple j, where not only did he confirm the band were in the depths of writing and recording, but also gave listeners a preview at the direction the record is taking, playing an acoustic version of new song Exes.

"We're at the writing/recording phase. We've started recording - I think we have about 18 [song] ideas and we're going to lay them down properly in the next few months," Okereke said during his interview with Veronica & Lewis.

"It's sounding like nothing that we've done before but that's what everyone always says."
