Telstra's Road to Discovery may have the answers, the program announcing a bunch of free digital master classes with some of the country's successful artists, including the likes of Kate Miller-Heidke, Evermore and Bluejuice.
Telstra's Road to Discovery have a decade-long history of supporting emerging artists, and this event is the first-time the program can reach artists on such a wide digital scale, streaming the master classes online.
Hosted by the program's mentor and Killing Heidi figurehead Ella Hooper, the master classes will feature intimate chats and question and answers with performers such as Evermore's Jon Hume, Sheppard's George Sheppard, Jake Stone from Bluejuice and Kate Miller-Heidke, each discussing their career paths, how they got started, the pros and cons and what was learnt.
Four master classes will be streamed online through September from the Road to Discovery website, with more acts to be announced:
1. First Steps – Monday 9 September, 8pm – featuring Jon Hume, George Sheppard and Jake Stone
2. Writing And Recording – Monday 16 September, 8pm – performers yet to be announced
3. Getting Social – Monday 22 September, 8pm – Kate Miller-Heidke
4. Managing And Touring – Monday 30 September, 8pm - performers yet to be announced

For the last 11 years, Telstra's Road to Discovery has been supporting and showcasing some of Australia's most promising up-and-coming musicians at a nation-wide level, helping with establishing the acts in the industry and pairing them with some massively influential acts, like Bon Jovi, and extend their music to a wider audience.
