Jungle Love Festival Undergoes Major Shakeup As Director Leaves To Start Own Event

The founders of beloved Queensland festival Jungle Love have announced a major shakeup to the event.

Taking to Facebook, organisers revealed that co-director Lincoln Savage would step down from his role at the festival, but it would still run under the supervision of co-director Raymond Williams.

“Lincoln has been truly instrumental in making Jungle Love the success that it has become and, very importantly, helping it to survive through every hurdle we've faced,” the statement reads.

“The silver lining to this news is that Lincoln is going to start a new festival so now there'll be another super fun festival with crossover elements of Jungle Love to look forward to each year.”

As a result, Jungle Love will not take place at the end of 2019, and will instead happen next Autumn - the shift from summer will be permanent - with Savage’s new event taking place when Jungle Love is normally held.

“This process has been challenging for us, but we both look back on the past five years and can appreciate that it's been an incredibly positive experience and that together, along with our dynamite team, we've achieved something really special and affected many people in a positive way throughout this journey,” the statement continues.

“Together, we've been through the most challenging and stressful times of our lives running the festival, but also the most rewarding times and have grown immensely as people.

“We've learned an unbelievable amount from each other and from our experiences over the years and are ultimately thankful for all of it. Even though our time working together has come to an end, we still share many of the same values and wish each other the very best during our pursuits of bringing community together through these transformative festivals.”
