A side-splitting evening awaits at the Opera House this September
This year's Just For Laughs All-Star Gala is taking shape, with organisers today announcing the 2016 festival drawcards who will make up this year's roster of funny-people leading the charge to the Sydney Opera House for an overstuffed evening of side-splitting silliness this September.
Hosted by evergreen favourite Judith Lucy, this year's Gala will welcome performances from iconic British comedian Julian Clary, the always-riotous Margaret Cho, outspoken US comic Jim Norton and mononymous musician and comedian Beardyman, alongside Aussie mainstays Charlie Pickering and Peter Helliar.
With the exception of Lucy — who, to be fair, is still entitled to be getting utterly crapulent on accolades from last year's acclaimed show Ask No Questions Of The Moth — all of the All-Star Gala performers have solo shows taking place throughout the Just For Laughs festival: Clary will perform The Joy Of Mincing at the Opera House on 8 September; Norton is making is debut visit to the country and will step out solo at the Enmore Theatre on 11 September; Cho brings Psycho to the Concert Hall on 9 September; Beardyman will be on display at the Playhouse on 7 and 8 September with new work One Album Per Hour; Pickering and Helliar will also appear at the Playhouse for their respective shows How To Tame A Wild Squirrel (9-10 September) and One Hot Mess (8 & 10 September).
Tickets for the Just For Laughs All-Star Gala, at the Sydney Opera House on Saturday 10 September, are available now.
