Julia Zemiro To Star In The Sapphires Producer's Next Movie

Zemiro joins Rachel Ward and Bryan Brown for ABC1 war drama.

RocKwiz host Julia Zemiro has been cast to star in ABC telemovie An Accidental Soldier which begins filming in Perth next Monday.

The World War One drama is being produced by Kylie Du Fresne who has created box office gold with The Sapphires - it hit number two in the local box office and is close to the eight million dollar mark in takings after three weeks in cinemas.

An Accidental Soldier is to be directed by Rachel Ward (the actor-turned director has previously directed episodes of The Straits and Rake) and also stars France's Marie Bunel, Dan Spielman and Bryan Brown alongside Zemiro.

Du Fresne describes the telemovie as "a highly original story" that they "will bring to the screen with some of Australia's best creative talent.”
