ARIA Award-winning artist Josh Pyke has announced a 32-date tour across some of the country's most remote stages.

The esteemed Australian songwriter will be back on the road from late May, after only recently finishing his last tour in February with sold-out shows at Melbourne Zoo and Taronga Zoo.

This follows Pyke's freshly minted appointment to the board of the PPCA — aka the Phonographic Performance Company Of Australia — a non-profit organisation which represents and safeguards thousands of Australian recording artists when their music is used in public.

He takes his place on the board as an Artist Representative after being nominated and voted in by eligible registered PPCA Artists.

"It's an honour to be elected by fellow artists, and I'm really looking forward to learning a lot and doing all I can to support Australian recording artists," Pyke said in a statement.

Pyke is known for his contributions to emerging artists with his own music grant, The Josh Pyke Partnership, and as an ambassador for the Indigenous Literature Foundation.

He'll kick off his sizeable regional tour on Thursday 26 May at the Darwin Entertainment Centre, with additional dates in Wollongong, Gosford, Port Macquarie, Brunswick Heads, Traralgon, Phillip Island, Albany, Bunbury, Hillarys, Hobart, Albury, Ballarat and more. For a full rundown of dates, venues and other booking information, see Pyke's website.
