José González Announces 'Veneer' 20th Anniversary 2024 Australian Tour

In May and June 2023, José González returned to Australia for an exclusive Vivid LIVE performance, stripping back his enchanting 2003 record, Veneer, to celebrate the 20th anniversary of his classic. At the time, it looked like the rest of Australia would miss out, or the most devoted fan of José González would need to fly over to Sydney.

Fans who missed out won’t need to despair any longer, however, as González is touring Australia in March 2024. Presented by Handsome Tours, González will perform at some of the country’s most beautiful venues and another thrilling festival.

The Veneer 20th anniversary tour begins at Perth’s Astor Theatre on Wednesday, 6 March, followed by an appearance at Adelaide’s WOMADelaide on Saturday, 9 March, Melbourne’s Forum Theatre on Sunday, 10 March, and ends at the Fortitude Music Hall in Brisbane on Wednesday, 13 March.

The Heartbeats star will also unveil a Veneer 20th Anniversary Deluxe Edition on limited edition double clear vinyl and digital format via Mute Records on Friday, 27 October, to commemorate the occasion. In addition to the Deluxe Edition and upcoming tour, González will treat audiences to his stunning rendition of the 1989 Kylie Minogue track Hand On Your Heart.

Pre-sale tickets to the Veneer 20th anniversary Australian tour go on sale on Tuesday, 10 October, at 10 am local time, followed by a general on-sale beginning on Wednesday, 11 October, at 10 am local time. You can find tickets via Handsome Tours.
