Americana Legend Cancels Bluesfest 2020 Performance & Aussie Shows

US songwriter John Prine has cancelled his performance at Bluesfest this April, as well as some sideshows during his time in the country.

In a statement issued today, it has been confirmed that the Americana legend has been forced to pull out of his Australian tour "following the advice of his doctors regarding an existing hip injury".

"As always, John is appreciative of his loyal fans and friends all over the world and looks forward to returning to Australia at a future date," the statement reads.

"We sincerely apologise to fans affected by this cancellation and wish John a speedy recovery."

Last year saw the Illinois-born artist visit Australia for the first time since 1993, and he was announced on Bluesfest's first 2020 line-up last August alongside Dave Matthews Band, Crowded House and Patti Smith And Her Band.
