Jimmy BarnesAustralian stars, including Jimmy Barnes, The Wiggles, Vika & Linda, and more, have joined forces for the charity album Cradle Rock in support of Red Nose Australia.
The organisation is dedicated to saving the lives of babies and children who tragically pass during pregnancy, infancy, and childhood, but also supporting families who have experienced such devastating losses.
The new album will be released next Friday (21 August) and can be pre-ordered here.
Featuring eleven original recordings from Australian artists, Cradle Rock: Songs for Little Lives boasts a roster including Jimmy Barnes – performing with John Rooney and Ruby Rodgers – as well as The Wiggles and Elly-May Barnes & Sean Sennett.
The album also includes Vika & Linda, Kate Ceberano, The Field Brothers, Diego Torre & Victor Valdez, and country music stars Amber Lawrence, Troy Cassar-Daley, Lyn Bowtell, and Melody Moko.

Cradle Rock continues a legacy that began over 37 years ago, when Paul Field – former manager of The Wiggles and singer of The Cockroaches – organised a benefit concert following the passing of his daughter, Bernadette, from sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS).
Discussing Cradle Rock, Field said, “This album is an act of love by my friends on CRADLE ROCK. They know my baby daughter Bernadette died from SIDS and that her brief, shining life has had a huge impact since that day.”
Field continued, “There are songs about the joy of parenthood, profound loss, determination, progress, grief and safe sleeping. The impact Red Nose Australia has had over the past 50 years is extraordinary. Their scientific, evidence-based safe sleeping campaigns have helped reduce the incidence of SIDS in Australia by more than 80 per cent. That’s almost 13,000 babies’ lives saved!
“This album is about helping them continue this mission, as well as researching stillbirth and miscarriage, while also supporting families navigating grief and loss. No one can do it alone. All my love and thanks to all involved.”
In a personal statement of her own, Amber Lawrence added, “I’m extremely honoured to be included, and I’m really proud of the song ‘It’s Gonna Be Alright’ - a song I wrote after my own experience of a devastating mid-term pregnancy loss.”
