Australian music royalty Jimmy Barnes, Richard Clapton, The Black Sorrows, Brooke McClymont + Adam Eckersley and Mahalia Barnes + The Soul Mates are heading for a new music venue: the Lake Crackenback Resort.

“Listen up! You are invited to another cool, intimate event from the Music In Paradise team, this time by Lake Crackenback in the beautiful Snowy Mountains in February 2024,” The Black Sorrows posted on Facebook yesterday (4 October). “This is an up close and personal event, so numbers are strictly capped to a few hundred to ensure the atmosphere and vibe quite literally resembles a private party.”

Celebrating the 10th anniversary of Music In Paradise, the festival Stranded In The Snowys takes place in summer for three nights of epic, intimate, exclusive live music. More special guests will be unveiled over the days of music, taking place from 12-16 February 2024.

The Lake Crackenback Resort & Spa is surrounded by the Snowy Mountains – five hours southwest of Sydney – bordered by Kosciuszko National Park and the majestic Thredbo River.

As well as live music, attendees can enjoy luxurious accommodation, free activities, resort experiences, and enjoy restaurants showcasing local produce. Stranded In The Snowys is strictly limited to 500 punters, with limited tickets and accommodation packages are still available.

You can purchase tickets to Stranded In The Snowys via the Music In Paradise website.

On Saturday, 5 August, Jimmy Barnes played his first show since December 2022 – at Legends On The Lawn festival at Sandstone Point. The long break was preceded by the singer’s hip surgery.

“I've been jumping off PAs and stomping around stages for nearly 50 years, but it's finally caught up with me,” Barnes said in the lead-up to his surgery.

“I've had niggling back and hip issues for years, but things suddenly got a lot worse over the last few weeks, and I'm now in constant and severe pain. As everybody knows, it's against my religion to blow out gigs, but the Doctors tell me I need an operation as soon as possible, and it will really limit my movement for a few months. As much as it kills me to inconvenience everyone, I have to get this fixed so I can jump around onstage for another 50 years.”

In February, Richard Clapton announced two special “50 Years of Richard Clapton” concerts. Known for hits such as Girls On The Avenue, I Am An Island, Goodbye Tiger, Capricorn Dancer, Down In The Lucky Country, Deep Water, High Society, Blue Bay Blues, Glory Road, and Angelou, Clapton's music has soundtracked the lives of an entire generation of listeners.

The line up for Stranded In The Snowys In Summer this Feb 12-16 just keeps getting stronger by the day.
