Held off Kasey Chambers' newie
Australian rock legend Jimmy Barnes has taken home the number one album this week with 30:30 Hindsight, an album that revisits songs from throughout his career with guests like The Living End and Keith Urban.
Already certified Gold (35,000 scans) in the first week, the album held off Kasey Chambers' new album Bittersweet. Maroon 5's V managed fourth while other debuts came from Brad Paisley's Moonshine In The Trunk at 14 and AC/DC drummer Phil Rudd's solo record Head Job at 22.
The number one is the 14th for Barnsey across his solo and Cold Chisel careers – ten have come with solo albums and four with Cold Chisel. He draws equal with The Beatles, who’ve also had 14 number ones in Australia.
“This has been a fantastic collaboration from the start – not only with all the amazing artists who sang and played with me on this new record, but it’s also a great partnership with my fans and with Michael Gudinski and Mushroom over the past 30 years,” Barnes said.
