Just days after detailing his DEFIANT tour, Jimmy Barnes has announced none other than Australian singer-songwriter Taylor Sheridan as the special guest for the trek.
Revealed over the weekend, Barnes’ DEFIANT tour is named for his forthcoming album of the same name, and sees the Cold Chisel frontman playing massive shows throughout his hometown of Adelaide, Perth, Melbourne, Brisbane, Sydney, and Canberra.
The associated album will be arriving on Friday, 6 June, via Mushroom Music, and serves as his first studio record since 2022’s Blue Christmas.
“I’m really looking forward to getting back on stage with my band again,” Barnes said of the forthcoming tour. “I’m so proud of this new record – all the songs mean a lot to me, and I can’t wait to share them with you. It’s going to be some serious fun!”
While Barnes is itching to get out on the road again, he’s set to be accompanied by Sheridan, who is in the middle of a massive purple patch thanks to the success of his 2024 debut, Troubadour.

Hailing from Kyneton in Victoria, Sheridan has been in the game for well over a decade, but has seen some huge achievements in recent years as he swiftly ascends the the local music scene as a luminous force. Upon the release of Troubadour in June last year, the record went right to #1 on the ARIA Country Album Chart and didn’t move for five consecutive weeks.
Already, his resumé boasts some massive festival appearances, and he can list the likes of John Farnham, Gladys Knight, Pete Murray, Daryl Braithwaite, Dionne Warwick, and Vanessa Amorosi as artists he’s shared a stage with. Now, Barnes can be added to that list.
Barnes’ DEFIANT tour comes after Cold Chisel sold over 150,000 tickets on their recent The Big Five-O Australian tour, celebrating 50 years of pioneering Aussie rock music.
Tickets to Barnes’ upcoming shows are on sale from 10am local time today (Friday, February 28th).
