Whether it's through the Modern Deep Left Quartet or Cobblestone Jazz projects or the production he has put together under his own name, if you're familiar with Mathew Jonson then you'll know that this guy is a tour de force in the world of soulful, jazzy electronic music.
His style is distinctive and overtly creative, but still manages to be somewhat underestated. He has an incredible grasp on the genres of jazz, house, fusion and techno to name but a few, and has developed into one of the more exciting electronic artists to go down that path in the history of the techno genre.
He makes a welcome return to Australia for three shows over the New Year period, making the dancefloor a very welcoming place to be on the biggest night of the year and the biggest recovery day of the year as well. You can catch him playing the following shows.
