More Jack White More Jack White

Yep, you read that right: one of the most famous musicians in the world, Jack White, is heading down under to play at the Corner Hotel.

A Melbourne institution, the band room can hold up to 750 punters and has hosted the likes of The Rolling StonesMick Jagger and Pink Floyd’s David Gilmour playing unannounced shows at the venue in 1988.

Other acts too big for the Corner but who previously played there include blink-182, Interpol, Midnight Oil, Lorde, Public Enemy, Sam Fender, Spiderbait, Sia, The Living End, and many more.

The place is legendary and likely helped break many of those artists when they played in Melbourne. For Jack White and The White Stripes fans, it’s an even bigger deal as that’s where he wrote the riff for Seven Nation Army in 2002.

Jack White is performing at the Corner Hotel and the Civic Hall in Ballarat this December as part of ALWAYS LIVE, Victoria’s celebration of contemporary live music supported by the State Government through the tourism body Visit Victoria. These shows will also be presented by tour promoters Frontier Touring.

The American singer and guitarist will perform at Ballarat’s Civic Hall on Friday, 6 December, and Melbourne’s Corner Hotel on Saturday, 7 December.

Jack White’s upcoming shows arrive after he recently dropped the surprise album No Name.

This album involved a rollout of his record label, Third Man Records, putting the vinyl in unsuspecting fans’ bags. Lucky record buyers received the album for free with any purchases they made at Third Man Records locations on 19 July. The album landed on streaming services on Friday, 2 August.

In November 2022, Jack White came to Australia for a one-off exclusive performance as a headliner of the inaugural Harvest Rock Festival in Adelaide.
