Last month, Universal Pictures International revealed the official title, unveiled key artwork, and announced plans for the cinema release of Iron Maiden’s forthcoming documentary, Burning Ambition. Now, the trailer is here.

The documentary tracks Iron Maiden’s incredible five-decade career as one of the world’s most successful heavy metal bands.

It follows their highs and lows, featuring interviews with the band and some of their high-profile, longtime fans, including Rage Against the Machine’s Tom Morello, Metallica’s Lars Ulrich, Public Enemy’s Chuck D, and Skyfall actor Javier Bardem.

“If you’re an Iron Maiden fan, you’re part of one family,” frontman Bruce Dickinson says in the trailer, which you can watch below. The documentary lands in Australian cinemas on Thursday, 7 May.

Burning Ambition was directed by Malcolm Venville (Churchill at War) and produced by Dominic Freeman (Spirits in the Forest – A Depeche Mode Film).

The official documentary synopsis reads:

With unprecedented access to official band archives, Iron Maiden: Burning Ambition charts five decades of one of the most iconic journeys in music history. Featuring interviews with the band and contributors such as Javier Bardem, Lars Ulrich, and Chuck D, this electrifying film offers an intimate look at their uncompromising vision and unwavering connection with their global army of fans.

The documentary trailer arrives just a few weeks after Iron Maiden announced their highly anticipated return to Australia, where they’ll be accompanied by thrash metal icons Megadeth.

This November, the British metal icons will perform in arenas and, for the first time, outdoor stadium venues in Melbourne and Sydney. And it seems that one night at Auckland’s Spark Arena and the Brisbane Entertainment Centre wasn’t enough for Iron Maiden fans, with extra dates added at both venues.

Performing in their largest venues in the country to date, Iron Maiden will take fans through hits from their first nine albums: from their self-titled album to Fear Of The Dark. Recent sets have featured beloved tracks including Hallowed Be Thy Name, Run To The Hills, The Trooper, Number Of The Beast, Powerslave, 2 Minutes To Midnight, Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son, and more.

Tickets to all shows are available now via the TEG Dainty website.
