Local independent music company Inertia has announced a partnership with renowned US label Fat Possum Records.
The deal will see Inertia handle the distribution of Fat Possum's releases in both Australia and New Zealand. The partnership also means that Inertia will play host to several other labels under Fat Possum's banner - Other Music Recording Company, Lefse Records, Big Legal Mess and Hi Records.
The US indie company have had an eclectic roster since their inception in 1991 as a predominantly Mississippi Delta Blues driven label. Spiritualized, Wavves, Yuck, The Black Keys, The Walkmen, Al Green and El-P have had music released through Fat Possum.
Up coming releases, in conjunction with the new venture, will include records from The Districts, Solids, Water Liars and Mutual Benefit.
