Mysterious industrial metal outfit Ho99o9 (pronounced Horror) are returning to Australia after a May 2023 tour, this time opening for the iconic The Dillinger Escape Plan on all dates.
The American punk rap duo formed in New Jersey in 2012 and has released numerous albums, mixtapes, EPs, and singles in their career. They’ve made a name for themselves thanks to their music—a blend of rap, thrash metal, punk, and industrial music—but also the mystery surrounding them—the perfect recipe for achieving cult, underground success.
Ho99o9 don’t do interviews or other forms of press; you won’t see them participating in the latest TikTok trends, and there are certainly no publicity stunts. Their volatile live shows will do the talking when they open for The Dillinger Escape Plan this August.
The Dillinger Escape Plan ended an eight-year hiatus in 2023 and played only a handful of shows last year. Continuing to play minimal live shows, the band will celebrate their groundbreaking 1999 debut album, Calculating Infinity, and much more at their Australian shows.
The band's upcoming Australian tour begins at Metropolis Fremantle on Sunday, 10 August, with original frontman Dimitri Minakakis and founding guitarist Ben Weinman leading the band.
It continues at Adelaide’s The Gov on Tuesday, 12 August, two nights at Melbourne’s Northcote Theatre on Wednesday, 13 August (sold out), and Thursday, 14 August (second and final show), Sydney’s Enmore Theatre on Saturday, 16 August, and Brisbane’s The Tivoli on Sunday, 17 August.

The Dillinger Escape Plan last played Down Under in October 2017 for their Final Australasian Tour. The band went on hiatus following the release of 2016’s Dissociation, taking the chance to “pull a Seinfeld and go out while we’re still on top.”
