A whole heap of indie bands were announced to be playing BIGSOUND Live today, as the showcase event's second series of acts were announced. Genres from electro to garage rock to indie-folk are all represented and, despite the higher profile headliners that are coming over, there are still plenty of up and comers on this year's bill. Plus, there's another 60 acts to be announced!

After their stellar ARIA Album Chart debut, The Medics have announced a whole bunch of dates in support of their Foundations debut. The tour takes them to plenty of metro and regional centres all across the country.

Pluto Jonze has followed up his very popular Plastic Bag In A Hurricane track with his new single See What The Sun Sees. It's another track bound to saturate airwaves in the coming weeks, particularly after the launch shows he's putting on in honour of it, which were announced this week.

Those indie kids who could, Snakadaktal, announced their biggest shows to date earlier this week, following on from a very successful showing alongside The Jezabels on their recent enormous national tour. Such is the band's rapidly growing popularity, they'll probably pack these shows out too.

After four years, fans of The Joe Kings are finally getting a full album from the Perth-bred, bules-inspired rockers. While Strange Individual will be released in August through MGM, the band are on the road in July to get people well acquainted with the new tunes and to convert more people to their highly energetic live show.

We don't know who is playing the next Act Of Destruction party, nor do we know where it is happening, but if it is anything like the one that was in Sydney recently it'll be nuts. Check out info on that show and how to register for updates on the next one here.

Brisbane indie-pop dudes Hey Geronimo are also launching a new single by getting on the road in just over a week's time.

Oliver Tank has picked up a particularly coveted support slot, opening up for Lana Del Rey on her forthcoming Australian tour.
