EYE ON THE CHARTS
No change once again in the top 20 of AIR's singles/EP charts for independent labels with independent distribution chart in terms of the number one spot, with Sheppard's self-titled EP (Independent/MGM) holding strong for another week. Boy band What About Tonight held onto second with Time Of Our Lives (Nammos Beach Records/Independent) while Mark Wilkinson's Middle Ground (Independent) made a big jump from 14 to three.

Rap duo Horrorshow have had a huge week of chart success, now it's been confirmed that they've nabbed the top position in the top 20 albums released on independent labels through independent distribution chart with King Amongst Many (Elefant Traks/Inertia). This pushed Chet Faker and The Cat Empire down a position each, closely followed by The Trouble With Templeton's debut entry Rookie (Independent/MGM) in at four.
Other debuts this week included MC Fluent Form with FluSeason (Obese Records) at 14 and indie rock band Young Revelry's effort You And I (Independent/MGM) in at 16. Rapper Dialectrix re-entered the chart with his mid-year release The Cold Light Of Day at number 19.

Roots indie rockers Skipping Girl Vinegar are getting ready to unveil their new single West Coast. The track, out Tuesday 27 August, will give fans a taste of their upcoming third album that's slated for an early 2014 release.
We've got a killer new track from the Vaudeville Smash guys in the shape of Devil Said. The single release comes just as the band have announced some tour dates in Japan. Listen.
