ON THE ROAD

Folk alternative Hayden Calnin has announced a few headline shows for this May. The gigs will celebrate the release of his latest EP Oh, Hunter. More.

There will be plenty of locals on board the upcoming headline tour from New Jersey rock legends Monster Magnet. King Of The North, Chainsaw Hookers, Arrowhead, Fort, Matt Sonic & The High Times and Don Fernando will all appear throughout the run. Details.

EYE ON THE CHARTS

Electro crooner Chet Faker has remained at the top of the AIR's singles/EP charts for independent labels with independent distribution chart this week with his latest single Talk Is Cheap (Future Classic/Independent). His track with labelmate Flume, Drop The Game (Future Classic/Independent) also retained second spot.

Singer-songwriter Alex Lloyd debuted at three with his Richmond AFL club anthem Coming Home To Richmond (Table Music/Independent). And indie dance favourites Art Vs Science scored a first-time entry at sixth with their new single Create/Destroy (Independent/MGM).

The John Butler Trio and The Jezabels continued their reign as number one and two respectively in the albums released on independent labels through independent distribution chart with Flesh & Blood (Jarrah/MGM) and The Brink (Independent/MGM).

Hip hop act Sietta scored the only album debut this week. Their latest, The Invisible River (Elefant Traks/Inertia) came in at nine.
