EYE ON THE CHARTS

Fremantle roots and jam band John Butler Trio have held onto the number one spot in the singles/EP independent labels through independent distribution chart with their single Only One (Independent/MGM) for two weeks running, as the hit is seeing regular radio play across the nation. Moving up to second place we have ARIA award winning, bedroom producing Flume and his runaway track Holdin On (Future Classic/Independent), which overtook chart smashers Uncle Jed's Brother (Independent), moving it down to number three.

There have been a few debuts in the singles/EP independent labels through independent distribution chart this week with Indie electro artist SAFIA and their new single Listen to Soul, Listen (Independent/MGM) coming in at number five. Melbourne's music scene was pumping this week, with pop artist Meg Mac's new track Every Lie (Independent/MGM) debuting at seven, while dance outfit Miami Horror's Real Slow (Remote Control/Inertia) entered in at 17.

The independent labels through independent distribution chart has been fairly quiet this week, but there are a couple of notable mentions. Kerser is still sitting on top of his chart throne with S.C.O.T (Kerser N Nebs Records), and Chet Faker has moved up two spots to number two with release Thinking in Textures (Opulent/Inertia). An honourable mention as well to Sticky Fingers, who moved back up four spots to number 14 with Caress Your Soul (Sureshaker/MGM).
