It's a pretty short tour, though. Like, painfully short.
Revered US indie/alt-country outfit Pinegrove pretty quietly announced their debut Australian tour dates for 2018 earlier this week, shrouded in the excitement of the release of their new track Intrepid.
The March tour is a short one — only two shows; one each in Sydney and Melbourne — but trust us when we say this band would be worth making a trip for.
The band's maiden trip Down Under will come at the back end of their current massive stint on the road, which is taking them through the US and Europe before they head to the antipodes to acquaint themselves with their Australian fans.
Their breakthrough album, Cardinal, was a critically acclaimed darling on its release last year, earning an array of enthusiastic reviews and positive comparisons to easy-rock greats of yore, turning on a wider audience than ever to the group's deep and diverse back-catalogue of excellence.

Intrepid comes on the heels of all that momentum, the partial product of Pinegrove's past six months of work recording and mixing, though they "don't have any more official info to give … on those recordings right now", they said in a social media statement.
"We can tell [you] that they are finished & ready & we are really proud & as a celebration we are releasing … Intrepid."
You can check out the new song below, or head to Pinegrove's Bandcamp page to enjoy the rest of their catalogue, which, including Cardinal, is available for pay-what-you-want rates, with proceeds being forwarded to the Southern Poverty Law Centre because goddammit this band is wonderful, OK?
