Icehouse have confirmed they'll play an extra Sydney show in February as part of their Platinum Concert Series.

The series of live gigs was announced when the groups’ 2011 compilation album White Heat: 30 Hits, went platinum earlier in the year, a feat which leader Iva Davies attributes to playing select live shows throughout the past three years.

The ever changing lineiup of the band behind Great Southern Land were supposed to finish the Platinum Concert Series at the Enmore Theatre on Saturday 7 February, but when that gig sold out quickly, they decided to treat Sydney to an extra show the following evening.

Local troubadour Mark Wilkinson has been named as special guest for the show, which will wrap up the national tour on Sunday 8 February. Tickets are available now through a variety of outlets; see theGuide or The Music App for more details.
