The band are most definitely back.

More I Killed The Prom Queen More I Killed The Prom Queen

Exhumed Aussie metalcore masters I Killed The Prom Queen are well and truly back in full swing now, with a pretty incredible new label deal announced today. The band have just announced they've inked a deal with the renowned Epitaph Records, one of the most enduring forces in the world of punk rock.

Guitarist Jona Weinhofen, who has a renewed focus on the band after his time with British metalcore chart toppers Bring Me The Horizon came to an end earlier this year, says that the label is the perfect home for the band.

"We are absolutely ecstatic to join the Epitaph Records family. Having worked with the label previously with Bring Me The Horizon, I knew exactly what Epitaph was capable of and that it would be the perfect home for I Killed The Prom Queen.”

They have confirmed they will be releasing a brand new album in 2014, their first since the release of their second record Music for the Recently Deceased way back in 2006.

Speaking of the album, Weinhofen says that there are undoubtedly shades of the band members' side projects and new influences have entered the fray, but for the most part it sounds like classic Prom Queen.

“It feels as though I Killed The Prom Queen never took a break and is a natural progression of the band,” he said in a statement.

“You will hear hints of our side projects and new influences, but make no mistake, this is an I Killed The Prom Queen record through and through. Its fast, melodic, heavy, catchy and we have added a couple of new elements which really bring it up there with the level of music being created these days.”

The band play a stack of shows before the year is out, check out the dates below.
