'They were both great.'
Aussie favourites Tame Impala and Courtney Barnett have well and truly cracked the US market in their own right in recent years and the music segment producer for US comedian Conan O'Brien's talk show, Conan, has nothing but glowing reviews about the acts.
Heading to Australia next week as a keynote speaker for the 2016 BIGSOUND conference, Jim Pitt says Tame Impala and Barnett's status in the country, which has seem them also perform on rival talk shows like The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, was getting so great that booking them on the show was too good to pass up last year.
"Oh my God, Courtney was phenomenal," Pitt told theMusic.
"And Tame were as well. They were both great."

In case you weren't aware already, Tame Impala frontman Kevin Parker recently produced an upcoming single for pop star Lady Gaga, while Barnett was included on US President Barack Obama's summer playlist.
"They were both totally happening by the time they got here," Pitt continued.
So it wasn’t a case of ‘We need to keep our eyes on them’, I think it was pretty clear everyone was keeping their eyes on them."
