With less than a week to go until voting closes, triple j has revealed some new stats ahead of this year’s Hottest 100.
In a surprise statistic, triple j shared that six Australian artists might just miss out on entering the countdown as they’re currently filling the spots of #101 to #110. If they don’t make the Hottest 100 of 2024, you’ll have to tune in to hear who missed the cut for the 200-101 countdown.
In addition to that reveal, triple j added that eight local artists are scattered from #101 to #200 to have never featured in a Hottest 100. If you haven’t submitted your votes yet, head to the triple j website or app to make your voice heard.
Other stats triple j unveiled today are: two of the top five songs are currently tied, and less than ten votes separate the songs, landing at #10 and #11.
The Hottest 100 excitement begins on Friday, 24 January, from 12 pm local time as Double J blasts the Hottest 100 of 2004. The following day, triple j will host the countdown of your favourite songs of last year with the Hottest 100 of 2024, live from 12 pm AEDT.
On Monday, 27 January, from 10 am local time, the fun continues as triple j plays the songs that missed the cut, spinning the Hottest 200 (200-101) of 2024.
