Daniel Johns, Flume To Perform At This Year's Vivid

Aussie rock mainstays Hoodoo Gurus, Silverchair legend Daniel Johns and local dance wunderkind Flume will perform during this year's Vivid Sydney.

The news was revealed at the event's launch, which is still underway, at the Opera House, with NSW Premier Mike Baird making the initial announcement. Locals The Drones, The Preatures, Melbourne Ska Orchestra, Royal Headache, American acts TV On The Radio, Sufjan Stevens, Bill Callahan and UK artist Squarepusher were also among the names revealed for Vivid LIVE.

Flume will perform as part of a Future Classic ten-year celebration event, while The Drones will be playing celebrate the tenth anniversary of their debut LP, Wait Long by the River and the Bodies of Your Enemies Will Float By and preview their upcoming album.

In terms of Vivid Ideas, Mad Men creator and executive producer Matthew Weiner, Grammy-winning designer — who's worked with The Rolling Stones, Lou Reed — Stefan Sagmeister and Wallpaper, Monocle magazines creator Tyler Brule are a few of the big names who'll take part this year.

It was also revealed that Vivid Sydney would be expanding further out of the city this year, with four new precincts to hold events, lighting displays and more. These new locations are Chatswood, Central Park in Chippendale, the University Of Sydney and Pyrmont.
