Hoodoo Gurus Expand 45th Anniversary Australian Tour

New shows have been added in Brisbane and Adelaide due to phenomenal demand.

Aussie rockers Hoodoo Gurus are in high demand, with their upcoming Rewind Tour – All Killer, No Filler run requiring extra shows.

The band have added new shows in Adelaide and Brisbane, after their previously announced shows in both cities already sold out. The just-announced shows will take place on Friday, 27 November, at Adelaide’s Hindley Street Music Hall and Thursday, 10 December, at Brisbane’s Fortitude Music Hall.

In addition to two shows in Adelaide and Brisbane, Hoodoo Gurus will perform in Perth (Ice Cream Factory), Sydney (Tumbalong Park), and Melbourne (Royal Botanic Gardens). You can see the band’s full tour itinerary below.

Frontier Members can access pre-sale tickets for the just-announced Adelaide and Brisbane shows from Monday, 6 July, at 11 am local time, followed by the general sale on Tuesday, 7 July, at 12 pm local time. Hoodoo Gurus are commemorating their 45th anniversary with their Rewind Tour – All Killer, No Filler run, where they plan to perform each of their 42 singles “at least once.”

Discussing the tour, Hoodoo Gurus frontman Dave Faulkner said:

We’ve often been described as a “singles band,” so for this Rewind tour, we’re gonna embrace that notion by only playing songs that were released as singles. No b-sides, no album tracks, we’ll just be concentrating on the hits - and quite a few misses as well!

It’s funny, but some of our biggest flops went on to become some of our most beloved songs. “Axegrinder” horrified radio programmers back in the day - “We can’t play that!” seemed to be their collective response - but within 12 months, “Axegrinder” had become a fan-favourite, which it remains to this day.

There are a whole lot of other near-misses that fall into that category. Along with all our bona fide hits, we’re hoping to play every one of our 42 singles at least once somewhere during this tour.

Joining Hoodoo Gurus at all shows are Sydney pop-punk heroes Ratcat – celebrating their 40th anniversary – and Perth garage rockers The Stems.
