With Midnight Oil not looking like being ready to reform just yet, The Break in hiatus and The Backsliders between releases, the human dynamo that is drummer, singer and songwriter Rob Hirst teamed up with Brisbane singer, songwriter and guitarist Sean Sennett over last summer and cut an album, Crashing The Same Car Twice.
That album sees release 18 September, but the lead single, When Darkness Comes, is out now. The album the official launch treatment 28 Sep at Sonny's House Of Blues in Brisbane.
Hirst and Sennett met years ago at a songwriters' workshop at Mt Macedon in Victoria. Sennett is best known for triple j favourite, You Broke My Heart At The Big Day Out, while Hirst co-wrote many of the Oils' biggest hits, including Beds Are Burning and When The Generals Talk.
