The Northern Territory’s biggest and longest-running music festival, BASSINTHEGRASS, returns to Larrakia/Darwin this May for its 22nd edition, this year headlined by Hilltop Hoods.
Hilltop Hoods are preparing to release their ninth album this year, a record set to arrive six years after The Great Expanse. They kicked off their 2025 with a new single, The Gift, featuring Larrakia musician, Marlon.
In addition to the headliners, festival organisers have announced an absolutely massive BASSINTHEGRASS line-up, starring metal outfit The Amity Affliction, singer-songwriter Meg Mac, DJs Luude and CYRIL, indie rockers The Jungle Giants and The Dreggs, hip-hop trio 3%, Hot Dub Time Machine, and some of the country’s favourite newer acts, The Rions and Old Mervs.
BASSINTHEGRASS has also secured some international names, including Jax Jones and Jaded from the UK and Nigerian artist Kah-Lo.
You can check out the complete line-up below.
This year’s festival will take place on Saturday, 17 May, at Darwin’s iconic Mindil Beach. Tickets can be found on the BASSINTHEGRASS website.

Hilltop Hoods’ Debris said of their headlining slot: “We haven’t been to Darwin for three years, and our whole team are excited and looking forward to performing at BASSINTHEGRASS with such a great line-up. The festival is one of our favourite places to play.”
CYRIL added, “Being a Darwin local, it’s a dream come true to come back home and play at BASSINTHEGRASS! It’s such an incredible festival that brings some of the world’s best talent to the Northern Territory, and I can’t wait.”
Northern Territory Major Events Company Interim CEO Trevor Cox said, “Over 22 years, the Territory’s favourite music festival has grown into a must-attend event on the national festival calendar. It’s also one of the most affordable festivals in Australia.
“BASSINTHEGRASS is bringing international artists together with Australia’s best, giving music fans the chance to experience world-class performances in a stunning beachside setting while continuing to support Australian artists on a big stage.”
