“The more we heard about Kesha's story the more horrified, heartbroken and furious we became."
Sydney alt-folk outfit All Our Exes Live In Texas are quickly making an international name for themselves, and their latest global effort sees a collaboration with US pop superstar Kesha.
After a turbulent few years, Kesha dropped her comeback single, Praying, last night which features a haunting choir section in the chorus courtesy of All Our Exes.
The collaboration came about last year when the local favourites were approached for a recording session with Ryan Lewis in Sydney while he was in the country with Macklemore. Lewis wrote the song alongside Melbourne singer-songwriter Ben Abraham.
Kesha then heard the results of that session and decided to keep the backing vocals.

“As an all-female band, we are aware of the challenges facing women in the music industry,” vocalist/mandolin player Georgia Mooney said.
“The more we heard about Kesha's story the more horrified, heartbroken and furious we became.
“We are extremely proud to be the backing singers on her incredible new song. A song that chooses forgiveness and love over hatred and revenge.”
All Our Exes Live In Texas continue their When We Fall album tour this weekend in Victoria before playing Queensland next week. Check out theGuide for all the info.
