Help Your Favourite West Australian Band Earn A Slot At Southbound

The Stagebound initiative returns, with double the opportunity to make it to the festival's line-up

West Australian bands will have a chance at playing alongside the likes of Bloc Party, Birds Of Tokyo, Courtney Barnett, Foals and more at this January's Southbound event as part of the annual Stagebound initiative, which this year has doubled its scope to ultimately give two local acts a shot at festival glory.

With voting officially opening today, event organisers have revealed the 'class of 2016' in the running for a place on the line-up, each backed by a local media outlet; this year, The Music is putting its eggs in the basket of WAM Award-nominated troubadour Jacob Diamond, who's up for the triple honours of Most Popular New Act, Best Male Vocalist and Best Folk Act at this week's prizegiving ceremony. Check out a live performance from the local troubadour, recorded especially for The Music, below.
